About Women's Work Force

This site is designed to give you easy access to women in business in your area. Are you looking for an Electrician? Plumber? Mechanic? Lawyer? Accountant? … whatever the industry we have a women in the work force that can help you out.

Mission Statement – Women's Work Force strives to be the number one source for women to locate a service, trade or profession owned or provided by a woman. We also strive to be a source of industry tips and information to continue the success of women run businesses.  

Women's Work Force was created out of a need to fill a niche for quick access to top quality women professionals and women business owners. How many times have you wanted to deal with a woman mechanic or perhaps to talk with a woman lawyer but couldn't find a quick source for this?  The site was launched in Sept 2004 by Just Results! a woman run sales and marketing consulting company. Since the launch of the site we have had thousands of visitors. We handle hundreds of ongoing requests for members and for services in all locations. The site is constantly updated as territories evolve and more categories are added.

Did you know: Women entrepreneurs are one of the fastest growing segments of the Canadian economy and represent a growing Economic force?
1) About half of Canada's new companies are now started by women.
2) At least two-thirds of self employed women started their own businesses, while one-third buy existing companies or franchises.
3) The average age of woman business owners is 45. Almost 80% are married and over half have children.
4) The number of women business owners in manufacturing, construction, transportation and communications is growing rapidly.
5) Over 86% of Canadian businesses owned by women are service industries.
6) One third of self employed Canadians are women, up from 19% in 1975.
7) Canadian women are selling their products and services all over the world. Women owned firms are doing business with Canada's most important trading partners.
8) The US is the dominant market where 74% of women exporters are making sales.
9) 60% of women exporters report activity in Asia and 58% sell in Europe
10) Active women exporters generate close to 40% of their sales in foreign markets.
11) Women exporters set aggressive growth targets, expecting to increase both total sales and reported sales by more than 50% in the next 2 years.
12) 30% of women exporters began to export at business start-up and 55% made their first foreign sales within two years of launching the business.
